Obituary for Jay S. Brooks
Jay S. Brooks, 54, of Kennebunk, died suddenly at his home, with his mother at his side early Friday, November 30, 2018.
Jay was born December 29, 1963 in Saco, ME, the son of Everett John and Elinor (Hutchins) Brooks, and is a graduate of Kennebunk High School, class of 1983.
Following his graduation, Jay took on jobs with several local businesses, including Doane’s Sunoco and Rand’s Green Antiques. More recently, he was refinishing furniture at his home for customers and friends.
He enjoyed tinkering with cars, growing vegetables in his garden. He loved to cook a meal for his family and was a devoted son to his mother.
He is predeceased by his father, Everett John Brooks, who died in 1985.
Survivors include his mother, Elinor (Hutchins) Brooks of Kennebunk; three brothers, Lee of Kennebunk, Eric of Windham and Stacey of Sanford; a sister Deanna Michaud of Newfield, ME and two nieces, Ashley Brooks of Kennebunk and Tori Brooks of Springvale, ME.
An hour of visitation will be held from 10-11AM on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, with a funeral service at 11 AM at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St. Kennebunk. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Kennebunk.
