Obituary for Robert A. "Bob" Nelson Sr.

Robert A. (Bob) Nelson, Sr., 98 years, a resident of Kennebunk, died peacefully on July 20, 2019.

Robert was born in Roxbury, MA on February 12, 1921, the son of Anders R. and Florence Sarah (McLeod) Nelson.

Mr. Nelson was a WW II Navy veteran who participated in the Normandy invasion on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. He graduated from New England College in 1950 as Valedictorian and earned a Juris Doctor degree from The University of Miami, FL. He was a retired mathematics teacher and department head at Roosevelt High School in Roosevelt New York for 31 years. He was a member of Spartan Masonic Lodge #953 F&AM.

Bob is survived by his wife Muriel of 76 years; his daughter Gail Livingstone; his son, Robert Jr.; a brother William; grandson Michael Livingstone and two great granddaughters Olivia and Aleha.

A memorial gathering will be held from 2-4 PM on August 8, 2019 at Huntington Commons, Huntington Common Drive, Kennebunk, ME in the Club Room.
