Obituary for Jeannine T. Wood (Therrien)
Jeannine Wood, 89 of Kennebunk, ME passed away on May 27, 2019 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford, after a brief illness. She was born in Sanford, ME, on July 3, 1929, the daughter of Leo and Henrietta (Campagna) Therrien. She attended Sanford Schools. She married Herbert (Woody) Wood from Boston, MA whom she met through corresponding with him while in the service. They were married for over 55 years.
Jeannine worked in the Kennebunk textile mills along with her husband for a short period. She also was a housekeeper cleaning homes and cottages where she made many friends. Jeannine and Woody enjoyed being social with church friends and dining out often. She had a wonderful circle of friends that brought her much joy, as her family and friends would say “she had a unique sense of humor that made us all laugh”. She was surrounded by people that were angels in her life that were all there to help make things easier for her after her husband passed away. She felt blessed. She made frequent trips to Sanford to visit with her sister, family, and friends.
She is predeceased by her husband Herbert, and her son Richard who recently passed away.
Survivors include her sister Julie Chapman, her nephew Randy Chapman and wife Linda, and her niece Debbie Hurd and husband Frank.
There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Friday June 7, 2019 at the Messiah Christian Church, 2700 Post Road, Wells, ME. A graveside service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday June 12, 2019 at the Southern Maine Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 83 Stanley Road Springvale, ME.
