Obituary for Katheleen Violet Parks (Taylor)
Katheleen Taylor Parks, 64 years, of Kennebunk, died March 27, 2019 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.
Kathy was born July 8, 1954 in Sanford, ME, a daughter of Ernest and Dorothy (Kent) Taylor. She graduated from Kennebunk High School, Class of 1972, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Watterson College in Pasadena, CA. Kathy enjoyed working for Lifetouch, capturing life’s special occasions through photography.
Kathy enjoyed her family and friends and the wildlife that visited her yard, including the chipmunks that, at times, would enter her home uninvited. She loved barbecues and rides around the beach. Kathy was a great cook and could put together a great meal with anything she could find in the pantry.
In addition to her parents, Ernest Taylor and Dorothy Simpson, Kathy was predeceased by her daughter, Angel Parks.
Kathy is dearly missed by her daughters, Megan Parks-Belisle and her husband, Kevin, of Kennebunk and Jennifer Parks Boutin and her husband, Ray, of Buxton; her twin brother, Kent Taylor and his wife, Linda, of Kennebunk, her sister, Paula Perry and her husband, Mike, of RI; brothers, David Simpson and Robert Simpson, Jr; five grandchildren, Breanna, Ryan, Taylor, Kayden and Prestyn; and one great grandchild, Kingston; as well as her many friends, who along with her family knew her as Umma.
Friends may visit from 4-6 pm on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 11 am in Hope Cemetery in Kennebunk.
