Obituary for Ronald Paul Doucette

Ronald Paul Doucette, 71, of Old Orchard Beach, ME, passed away March 18, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 13, 1947 in Lynn, MA to Paul and Marjorie (Melanson) Doucette.

Ronald graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School and received two Associate Degrees in Business Administration and Computer Science from Andover College. He proudly served our country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Ronald owned a small business where he worked as a Programmer. He was very active with his children while growing up. He was a Little League assistant coach and a Cub Scout and Boy Scout volunteer. He was also a professional musician, specializing in playing the guitar. He loved playing music, bird watching, and collecting butterflies. He will be remembered as a kind, loving, warm-hearted, gentle soul. He appreciated people who would give of themselves.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Doucette and Marjorie Doucette (Hallahan) and brother, Richard Doucette. He is survived by his wife, Carol Doucette of Old Orchard Beach; sons, Matthew Doucette and his wife, Kristin of Northfield, NH, Michael Doucette of Waltham, MA, Christopher Doucette and his wife, Kelsey of Portland, ME, and Nicholas Doucette and his wife, Amy of Portland, ME; daughter, Tammy Doucette and her partner, Cathy McDougall of North Reading, MA; brother, Gary Doucette of Portsmouth, NH; sister, Cheryl Egli and her husband, Paul of Salem, NH; granddaughter, Bree Isla Doucette of Northfield, NH; and an expected grandson in July.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ronald’s name to the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans at www.nchv.org.

A prayer service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the Southern Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 83 Stanley Rd., Springvale, ME 04083.
