Obituary for Nancy C. Hubbell

KENNEBUNK
Nancy C. Hubbell, 83, of Huntington Common, formerly of Rosewood Circle, died peacefully Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at her residence following a period of failing health.

Nancy was born June 14, 1935 in Boston, MA, the daughter of Roman G. and Elizabeth Ley Hubbell, and grew up in Albuquerque NM. She furthered her education, attending Texas State College for Women, where she earned a degree in Physical Education, later earning a Master’s degree.

Nancy began her varied career path as an educator with the Odessa School System in Odessa, TX, teaching Physical Education. She later earned her CPA certification, and was employed as an accountant for a private organization in Dallas, TX. She also owned and operated a knitting and handcraft store with a friend in Odessa. Upon her retirement, she moved to Kennebunk 30 years ago to be closer to her family.

Throughout her life, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and loved to tend her flower gardens. Most recently, she tended to the flower gardens at Huntington Common.

Survivors include her sisters Betty Anne Burnell of Derry NH and Sally H. Siebert
Of Wilton CT, and numerous nieces and nephews, including her niece Karen Larsen, who was her right hand and companion in her declining years.

A memorial service will be held in May and announced by Bibber Memorial Chapel, Kennebunk.
