Obituary for Wilbert J. "Bill" Bouchard

Wilbert J. Bouchard (Bill) of Wells, Maine, formerly of Titusville FL and Salem MA passed away on December 3 at the age of 92. Wilbert was born in Stockholm ME in 1926, son of Baptiste and Delia Bouchard.
Wilbert enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943, proudly served and was assigned to the USS Wasp aircraft carrier as Aviation Ordinance man, Third Class. He saw action in the Pacific Theater while onboard during WWII. He received the American Theater Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal-9 stars, Philippine Liberation Medal-2 stars, Purple Heart Medal, Victory Medal. Upon discharge he held several jobs, then was appointed to the Salem MA Fire Department in 1955. He retired in 1981 after serving his community for 26 years. During his service he proudly received several commendations and awards.
Bill had a great love of golf and played every day after his retirement, well into his 80’s. His love for the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots never faltered and he recorded every game so that he would not miss one. He also looked forward to his trips to Oxford Casino to play the slots.
He was predeceased by his brothers Philipe, Gilbert and Clarence, and sisters Marie, Hermance, Cecile and Lucille.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy and husband Bill Tuscano, Donna Bouchard, Linda and husband David Bracken, brothers Albert (his twin), Joseph, Clifford, and sister Rose Desrocher. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Krista Tuscano, Kym Tuscano and Brent Tuscano, and one great grandchild, Jayde Tuscano and her mother, Sabrina Huckins.
Services will take place 11 AM Thursday, December 13, 2018.at the Maine Veterans Cemetery 83 Stanley Rd, Springvale, Maine.
