Condolences

Condolence From: Doug King
Condolence: I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Lou MacNeill, but looking at that picture of him just makes me smile. Lou had an unforgettable sense of humor - physical, goofy, teasing, self-deprecating, always on, never mean. He went far out of his way to help me personally and made a lasting impact on my life. I will always be grateful for this good man.

Condolence From: Bob Ayer, State College, PA
Condolence: It is with sadness that I read in our local newspaper the passing of Lou. I grew up in MA and graduated from Springfield College. Lou graduated in 1952 and I graduated in 1957. However, I did not really get to know him and his lovely wife, Pat, until he became coach and Aquatic Director at Pennsylvania State University. At that time I was Director of Parks and Recreation for the State College area. He was a joy to be with and always trying to get you to laugh, as stated in his obituary. He also was an exemplary coach and aquatic director. My deepest sympathy to all his family and loved ones.

Condolence From: Krim and Chickie
Condolence: Jim, Andy and families,

We extend our sincere sympathy to you all. The impact Lou had on so many people is immeasurable and he was one very special person. He gave me a chance to swim at Penn State and believed I could do more than I thought possible. He then made me his assistant coach which would lead to an opportunity to become the head women’s swimming coach, while at the same time, Chickie and I would meet, get married and have three boys who, would know him as Uncle Lou. Without his faith in me, this would not have happened and how different life would probably be for the Krimmel’s!! His swimmers were always part of the family and so many times we would find ourselves playing cards with Pat and Lou. The memories are endless and will always bring smiles to so many faces.
May you all be comforted by your special memories and knowing that Lou was loved by those of us blessed to call him coach, mentor and friend.
