Condolence: To the Family of Barbara Cushing,
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy upon the passing of a very fine and remarkable woman. I knew Barbara from Huntington Commons, where I've facilitated a Writers' Group for the last six or so years. (I also continued to know Barbara at Bradford.) I admired her so much. She was a woman of real substance. She was also, in addition to her other talents and accomplishments, a gifted writer. She wrote a poem called "The Spare Room" which I consider to be about as perfect as they come. I can't read it without tearing up and I've read it many, many times. I'm sorry to learn of her passing, but I'm honored to have known her. She lived this life so well.
