Our close friend John exemplified the very best of humankind. A special person in every way, always friendly and upbeat. John was husband to my best childhood friend, Nancy. I was so happy when they found each other. When I spent time at Kennebunk Pond with my three growing girls, John was always there to talk and play with them (in the absence of a father) and today they still speak fondly of him (as a Dad surrogate) and those memories. One night, while Nancy and I visited next door, he went over to the cottage and played his harmonica for them! John will be missed as a great man by so many people, but we will have the fondest of memories of a very special human being.
