Obituary for Kevin Mark Elwell

Kevin Mark Elwell
Dateline – Berwick

Kevin Elwell, 58, beloved husband, Papa and Pop, died unexpectedly after a brief illness at York Hospital on April 19, 2018.

He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on October 17, 1959 to Edward and Barbara Elwell. He graduated from Lynn Tech where he studied culinary arts. His love of cooking began with summers in Boothbay Harbor while in high school. He enjoyed working in local restaurants before finding his home at York Hospital for the last 23 years. He was a fabulous cook and loved sharing his talents with family and friends. He especially enjoyed his annual pumpkinfest that grew larger each year. He met, and later married, the love of his life, Beth, while working at a local restaurant.

His fondest memories include family trips to Hawaii and Jamaica, quiet afternoons on his deck watching the birds, and spending time with his little Butterbean, Alice. Kevin loved his family very much and will be deeply missed by all.

He is predeceased by his parents and infant sister.

Kevin is survived by his wife Beth; daughters Denise and husband Alan Hurley of Rollinsford, NH, Amanda of Berwick, ME, Shea and Mikey Collins of Somersworth, NH; 2 brothers, Edward Elwell and wife Nancy of Merrimac, MA, Richard Elwell and wife Gail of Ipswich, MA; 2 sisters, Evelyn Uyemura and husband Sam of Torrance, CA, Karen Allen and husband James of Pittsfield, ME; a very special granddaughter, Alice; and Señor Gus, his loyal Chihuahua.
