Obituary for Judith Ann Gilman (Guilford)

Kennebunkport
Judith Ann Gilman, 77, of Goose Rocks Beach, formerly of Falmouth, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Kennebunk Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation following a period of failing health.

Judy was born March 1, 1939 in Sanford, the daughter of Clinton and Anna Marie Vallely Guilford, and is a graduate of Sanford High School. She furthered her education at University of Maine, Orono with a degree in Education.

Judy’s calling in life was being in service to others, especially children. As such, she was a longtime elementary school teacher in Portland ME, Denver CO, Whitinsville MA, Orlando FL and upon her retirement, worked at a daycare in Falmouth. She loved caring for and being a teacher of children.

Survivors include her husband Richard Gilman of Goose Rocks Beach, their two sons Jeffrey Gilman and his wife Christina of Brunswick, and Joshua Gilman and his wife Candace of Charlotte NC, 3 grandsons, Cole, Everett and Wyatt, and 2 granddaughters Sidney and Justina, and a cousin, Pamela Hayward of Falmouth.

A Celebration of Judith’s life will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. Interment will be at a later date.
