Obituary for Josette J. Dillman (DiTullio)

Josette J. (DiTullio) Dillman, 76, of Chase Hill Rd, died peacefully surrounded by her family and loving care givers at Avita of Wells on New Years day after living with Alzheimer’s disease in the final years of her life.

Josette was born February 27, 1942 in Trenton, NJ, the daughter of Anthony and Catherine Margaret Vizzini DiTullio, and grew up in Yardley, PA, where she graduated from Pennsbury High School, class of 1960. She proudly attended (“we are”) Penn State and earned her degree in education.

She started her career as an elementary school teacher in Delaware and Pennsylvania, before joining the University of Illinois teacher education program. Continuing her move west, Josette joined Mission Research in Colorado Springs, CO, then returned to the Jersey Shore, working with Prism Physical Therapy, from which she retired. In her retirement, she moved to Kennebunk, ME to be close to her family and loved spending time with her granddaughter Miranda, as well as her work as an Ed Tech with the North Berwick Schools.

Josette loved her work but did not let that define her. Her lifelong priority was her family, and carrying on her Mother’s spirit to maintain those important bonds. She loved spending time with her family and friends near and far, loved the beach, especially the Jersey Shore, and found joy in cooking, dancing and listening to music.

Survivors include her daughter, Danielle Dillman Warren, her husband Will, and granddaughter Miranda Hope of Kennebunk, and daughter Kristilyn Dillman Maxwell, her husband Bryan and granddaughters Carson and Rachel Maxwell of Harrisonburg, VA.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to A Place to Start in Kennebunk ME, a local organization providing hope, help and guidance for Alzheimer’s and dementia families. http://aplacetostartfordementia.org/ 41 Main St, Unit #2, Kennebunk, ME. 04043.

A graveside service will be held 11AM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Greenwood Cemetery, 1800 Hamilton Ave, Hamilton Township, NJ 08619. A Celebration of Life to follow at the Yardley Inn, in Yardley, PA. Contact for information kristilyndillman@gmail.com
