Everett R.  Nutting
Everett R. Nutting, 97 years, a resident of Fletcher Street, Kennebunk, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Huntington Common in Kennebunk, after a brief illness.

He was born on April 15, 1921 in Alfred, ME at the home of Dr. S.B. Marshall, known as the “Bow and Arrow” house. He was the son of Albion H. Nutting, Jr. and Mildred M. (Ferguson) Nutting.

Everett graduated from Alfred High School in 1938. Following graduation he was a desk clerk for several hotels in Saco, Kennebunk and The Parker House in Boston. On November 10, 1941 he married Dorothy E. Symonds of Wells Beach, ME. Everett worked at the South Portland Shipyard (1942-1943).Everett served in the US Merchant Marines (USCG) during WWII . He then worked at Saco-Lowell (Maremont) (1946- 1952). In 1952 Everett went to work for Kennebunk Light and Power, retiring in 1983 as Treasurer.

Everett was a member of the Alfred Grange and Saco Lodge #9. He was a member of the advisory committee for the Kennebunk Boy Scout Troop #304. He was a long-time member of Christ Church in Kennebunk. He enjoyed gardening, spending time working in his woodlot and greatly enjoyed going for walks.

Everett was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Dorothy E. (Symonds) Nutting, who passed in 1992 and a sister Marion E. Nutting.

He is survived by three beloved sons, Glenn E. Nutting and spouse Rochelle of Newcastle, ME, Scott A. Nutting of Bath, ME and Todd L. Nutting and spouse Mary Lynn of Kennebunk, ME; a sister, Martha N. Roberts of Alfred, ME; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Alfred.
