Obituary for Sarah Ann Small "Sally" Blake (Small)

Sarah “Sally” Ann Small Blake, 90 years, a resident of Kennebunkport died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a brief illness.

She was born in New York City, NY a daughter of Charles C. and Kathleen T. (Powers) Small and graduated from New York schools and Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY. She moved to Kennebunkport in 1955 and worked for her family at the Shawmut Inn as a hostess for many years. She also ran the 4 Acres Cottages in Cape Porpoise for 48 years.

Sally would often be seen at the Press Room in Portsmouth, NH where she frequented Jazz Nite and sang at the Open Mic Nite for many years. She loved to attend the Ogunquit Play House where she became friends with Sally Struthers. Sally played the organ and enjoyed music.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Armand Daniel Blake in 1999, her son, David W. McCoy in 1974 and her sister June Louise Small as well as several cousins.

She is survived by her two sons, William C. McCoy of Tombstone, AZ and Charles S. McCoy of Kennebunkport; and a daughter, Robyn A. Reeves of Kennebunkport.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 6-8PM at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME. A private graveside service will be held at Arundel Cemetery, Kennebunkport.
